About this data
Numbers come from GPS tracks recorded in-app, re-analyzed to find the sailing angle that actually produced the best speed-made-good upwind/downwind in each wind band — not just the angle most commonly sailed. Every number shown is a median across every sailor and session that qualified, never one person's result.
Early numbers will be noisy — a small fleet means small sample sizes. A band only shows a real number once at least 3 different sailors across at least 5 sessions have contributed to it; until then it shows as "not enough data yet."
Phone GPS accuracy (roughly 5-15m) meaningfully limits how precisely a sailing angle can be measured, especially in light air or on small/slow boats. A band also needs a connected wind sensor or a manual Wind Check during the session to count at all — sessions without either don't contribute here even though they work everywhere else in the app.
Dashed lines, where shown, are published reference numbers for that class — not this fleet's own data — included for context, not as a substitute for it.
