Set your name so your coach and teammates can find you. You can skip this and set it later from the menu.
If this username is new, a PIN is optional and protects it. If it's already yours, enter its PIN here.
Quick setup
🚩 OCS — RC Flagged. Sail back below the line to clear.

Your coach has seen your distress signal.
🚨 Possible Capsize
Your phone has been upside-down while sailing. Turn it back upright to cancel — no tap needed.

Race Mode
No race templates yet.
Pick a template to reference its marks, or skip and just run the countdown. Pinging marks is optional. This is the lightweight timer — no OCS or post-race analysis. For a full practice race with start-line judging and a per-leg report, use Solo Race instead.

Solo Race
No race templates yet — build one first.
Pick a template to ping its marks and start a solo race. A template needs a Start and a Finish leg. This is the full practice race — timed start, OCS, and a per-leg report. For just a countdown timer, use Race Mode instead.

Ping both ends to begin
Ping the ends
Sail to each end of the line and tap. The pre-start side is worked out from the wind, so do a Wind Check too.
Time to line--
Line length--
Favored end--
Line bias--
Distance is measured square to the line. Negative means you are over early (OCS). Favored end needs a wind direction — do a Wind Check first.

Connect Calypso Wind first to see live wind data.
Averages and shift % are tracked from when a session starts recording.

Auto Triggers
Use the GoPro for auto triggers
Turn off to keep these settings but leave the GoPro out of auto start/stop (a connected Insta360 can still use them)
Heel-Angle Trigger
Auto-starts recording past a heel angle. Tap Calibrate while the phone is level in its mount before use — this is tied to the phone's physical mount position, not portrait/landscape display, so rotating the screen (Auto-Rotate) never affects it, but physically remounting the phone differently does need a fresh Calibrate. Needs Motion & Orientation access.
Heel Threshold
Recording starts once heel exceeds this angle

Recording Duration
Keeps recording this long after heel last exceeded the threshold

Point-of-Sail Trigger

Tack/Gybe/Reach Angles
Confirms which TWA angles count as a tack vs. reach vs. gybe — also feeds the compass-only fallback when Calypso isn't connected
Mark-Proximity Trigger

Mark Radius / Duration

Start-Sequence Trigger
Auto-records before the start through after the gun — works with Race Mode, Solo Race, or an RC-run start

Highlight Mode
While the camera is already recording, auto-tags a HiLight moment on every detected tack/gybe, mark rounding, and start — does not itself start/stop recording, and can't retroactively capture footage from before recording began

A marker saves the time only (nothing is written into the camera's video). It shows up in the clip list as a video position.

Insta360 recording needs the Marena Camera Bridge app on this phone and a supported Insta360 camera that is already activated. Nothing is uploaded: the app only tells the bridge when to start and stop and shares your position with it on this phone. Video positions in the clip list are accurate to about a second (a few seconds if the camera was already recording when the app joined). Works in Chrome on Android.
Occasional bubbles, gulls, wind and water on calm screens. Never on the sailing dashboard. Calm is rare, Full is more often.

Classic is the original terminal look. Mono is rounded and one colour. Flavorful adds a colour per reading.

Keep Screen Awake
Prevents auto-lock during a session
Save at low battery
When the phone battery reaches 5%, the session is finished and saved for you, in any mode. Android only.
Auto-detect Wind Direction
Estimates TWD live from your tacks; turn off to rely only on manual Wind Checks
Auto Capsize Alarm
Sends a distress signal automatically if your phone stays upside-down while sailing — cancel by turning it back over. Needs Motion & Orientation access.
Off while you are sailing by yourself: it works when a coach or race committee session is active, because that is who it alerts.
Auto-rotate screen
Same as the rotation button at the top (the rotation icon with a padlock on it). On: the screen turns with the phone. Off: the screen is locked the way the phone is held right now, so a phone held horizontal stays horizontal. It only ever locks when you press it, and it always starts unlocked. If the phone lets go of the lock (the keyboard or a pop-up can do that) the padlock blinks and your next tap puts it back. If it still won't lock, see Fix Rotation below.

Speed Units
Race results sharing
Share my race results
Who can see your start numbers and speeds after a shared race
Show my name and sail number outside my group
Off: other fleets only see a number for you, never a name
Sail number
Optional, up to 12 characters
What is shared: your start numbers and speeds (distance to the line, time to cross, speed at the start, where on the line you started, top and average speed, tacks and gybes, heel and trim), never your raw GPS track. Who can see it: the choice above. “Just me” keeps every result private to you. “My group & coach” shares with the people in your groups and their coach. “Everyone in the same race” shares with anyone else who raced the same start. Names and sail numbers are only shown outside your group when the switch above is on.
Simple display
What the simple display shows
A cleaner screen with only these readings, in large numbers. Switch to it from the screen icon at the top, or when you press Record.
When I press Record
The display goes back to your current screen when the recording stops.
Phone mounting
How is the phone mounted?
Set the angle the phone sits at, anywhere from lying flat to standing upright, and which way it points. Heel, trim and the Heading card use it, so the phone does not have to be held level.
Tilt: 0° (lying flat)
Flat45°Upright
The top of the phone points: toward the bow
Not set
Heel and trim
Calibrate heel and trim
Mount the phone where it will sit while you race, put the boat level (flat on the water, crew in their normal places), then tap Calibrate and hold still for a moment. Heel and trim are recorded while you record a session and shown after your races. With the phone horizontal they are also shown live in the Heading square on the main screen. An iPhone may ask for motion access the first time.
